March 1, 2014

1. Meet with your advisor to verify eligibility for graduation.

2. Apply to graduate using myRedDragon.

Once at myRedDragon, do the following:

  1. Type in ID and password
  2. Select “Student" tab and go to the Registrar column
  3. Select “Graduation and Commencement Menu”
  4. Select “Degree and Diploma Application”

February 2014

Students who have not yet applied for a degree on myRedDragon should do so by March 1 and follow the instructions above. Applying for a degree by March 1 allows a student's name to appear in the Commencement program.

Week of February 24, 2014

Students will receive an email to their Cortland email address about the online ticketing process where they will select their ceremony time and purchase all items needed for Graduation.  Items to consider purchasing:

  • Cap and gown
  • Class ring
  • Diploma cover (Will be purchased online through the online ticketing process and linked to your Student Line-Up Ticket)
  • Diploma frame
  • Personalized graduation announcements
  • Flowers
  • Watercolor prints of the campus
  • Alumni memorabila

 March 1, 2014

Students who have missed the March 1 deadline can still apply for graduation, but must do so as soon as possible. 

Please remember, students who apply for their degree and/or indicate participation in Commencement after the March 1 deadline will NOT appear in the printed ceremony program.

April - May 2014

1. Check email account, myRedDragon announcements and the Commencement website frequently for the latest Commencement news.

2. Clear up any outstanding obligations (holds) with the College, such as Library fees, parking tickets, etc. A diploma can not be issued unless all obligations are cleared.

May 13 - 16, 2014

Students who miss the filing deadline to register for Commencement must apply on myRedDragon and print the verification page to be allowed to receive their tickets and cap, gown, etc. from the College Store.  

Students who apply for their degree and/or indicate participation in Commencement after the March 1 deadline will NOT appear in the printed ceremony program.

May 16, 2014

1. Attend rehearsal at 2:30 p.m. at the Stadium Complex. Instructions for the day of the ceremony, including line-up procedures, will be provided. All candidates for graduation are encouraged to attend. Rehearsal will last approximately 30 minutes.

2. If applicable, pick up honors tassels at rehearsal or the day of ceremony.

Graduates attending Ceremony A report at 8 a.m. wearing gowns. 
Graduates attending Ceremony B report at 1 p.m. wearing gowns.
