Check List

Fall 2008

1. Meet with your advisor to verify eligibility for graduation.

2. Apply to graduate using myRedDragon.

Once at myRedDragon, do the following:

  1. Type in ID and password
  2. Select “Student Online Tab” and go to the Registrar Student Channel area
  3. Select “Graduation and Commencement Menu”
  4. Select “Degree and Diploma Application”

 

March 2009

Students who have not yet applied for a degree on myRedDragon should do so by March 31 and follow the instructions above.

Applying for a degree by March 31 allows a student's name to appear in the Commencement program.

April 1, 2009

Students who have missed the March 31st deadline will now need to print the verification page once they have applied on myRedDragon for the degree and take it with them to the “Grad Finale.” 

April 7, 2009

Attend “Grad Finale™” event to purchase Commencement items, meet with members of the Bursar/Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Graduate Studies and Career Services Offices, and to pick up Commencement tickets. Items to consider purchasing:

  • Cap and gown
  • Class ring
  • Diploma cover (Required in order to receive undergraduate Commencement tickets)
  • Diploma frame
  • DVD/video
  • Personalized graduation announcements
  • Flowers
  • Watercolor prints of the campus

Students unable to attend the Grad Finale may view and purchase Commencement-related items online at College Store.

May 2009

1. Check e-mail account, postal mail, flyers on campus and radio announcements frequently for the latest Commencement news.

2. Clear up any outstanding obligations (holds) with the College, such as Library fees, parking tickets, etc. A diploma can not be issued unless all obligations are cleared.

May 11-15, 2009

Students who miss the filing deadline to register for Commencement must apply on myRedDragon and print the verification page to be allowed to pick up their tickets and cap, gown, etc.

May 15, 2009

1. Attend rehearsal at 2 p.m. at Park Center Alumni Arena. As a point of reference, the ice hockey rink is the Alumni Arena. When entering the Alumni Arena, please take all handouts and then proceed to seating in the bleachers closest to the door you entered. Instructions for the day of the ceremony, including line-up procedures, will be provided. All candidates for graduation are encouraged to attend. Rehearsal will last approximately 30 minutes. Students will receive numerous reminders about rehearsal via mail, the Internet, flyers posted on campus, the SGA message board and on WSUC, the campus radio station.

2. If applicable, pick up honors tassels at rehearsal or the day of ceremony.

3. Verify department reception location and time.

Graduates attending Ceremony A should report to Park Center Corey Gymnasium wearing gowns at 8:30 a.m. Those attending Ceremony B should report to Park Center Corey Gymnasium wearing gowns at 1:30 p.m.
