Graduate Commencement

The 2017 Graduate Commencement will take place on Friday, May 12, at 7 p.m. in the Park Center Alumni Arena. 

On March 22, 2017 at 8 a.m. the ticket selection link will go live and you will be able to sign up for the Friday Graduate Commencement Ceremony.  You will only have access to this site if you have applied for graduation.

To graduate, you must apply for your degree regardless of participation in the Commencement ceremony. Degree application is accomplished through myRedDragon. Students may apply for their degree now through March 1.

Once at myRedDragon, do the following:

1. Type in ID and password
2. Select "Student" tab and go to the "Registrar" column
3. Select "Degree Conferral and Commencement"
4. Select "Apply for Degree Conferral"

After applying for your degree, myRedDragon will prompt you to indicate your participation in commencement. You must indicate your participation by March 1 to ensure that your name will appear in the printed program.

In order to select your commencement ceremony, complete the following steps:

1. Log into myRedDragon
2. Select the Student Tab at the top
3. Under the Commencement 2017 Channel, select Commencement Tickets (first option)
4. Select your Ceremony (only one ceremony available to select from, Friday, May 12, 2017)

To participate in Commencement, you must purchase a diploma cover ($11) through our online ticketing process. Please have a credit card ready. The diploma cover is linked to your Student Line-Up Ticket, which you must bring with you the day of Commencement.  The diploma cover will be handed to you as you walk across the stage.

Please note GUEST tickets are NOT required for admission into the Graduate Commencement ceremony. You will only NEED to bring your Student Line-Up Ticket with you. 

There is no rehearsal for graduate students.  

Request to Change Degree Conferral Date: Use this form when your commencement date must be changed to accommodate requirement completion.  NOTE: Consult your advisor or coordinator before using this form. Please contact the Registrars Office for questions: 607-753-4702.
