PHI 205 - Prisons and Punishment
A consideration of theoretical issues surrounding the concept and justification of punishment from traditional sources (Kant, Bentham, Mill) to modern critiques (Foucault). A number of special issues surrounding prison policy and practice (race, supermax, prisons, youthful offenders) are also analyzed.
