HIS 349 - Central Europe 1789-1918

Political, social and cultural change in central and eastern Europe from the age of enlightened absolutism through World War I as a new German nation-state emerged and multinational empires such as the Habsburg Empire and the Ottoman Empire faced challenges from liberalism, socialism and nationalism.

Prereqisite: HIS 110 or 111.
