HIS 531 - Issues in African History

Historical and historiographical survey of peoples of Africa — human origins, population movements, spread of Islam, slave trade, colonialism, independence and underdevelopment. Special attention to teaching methods and materials.

Prerequisites: At least 12 hours of course work in social studies on the graduate or undergraduate level.
