February 13, 2012.  Dr. Kathie Hodge, Cornell University, presented a seminar in celebration of Darwin's birthday.  Dr. Hodge talked about fungi infecting our food and pointed out that not all fungi on food should be avoided.  She showed some dramatic time-lapse recordings of fungi growing over days.  The seminar and refreshments were sponsored by the SUNY Cortland Biology Club.

 March 12, 2012.  Dr. Mandy Esch, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Cornell University, presented a seminar on some of her work on "Body-on-a-Chip Devices to Assess How Drugs Interact with the Body".  One of her major interests is the toxicity of nanoparticles.  The seminar and refreshments were sponsored by the SUNY Cortland Pre-Medical Club.

April 12, 2012.  Dr.David Bonter, Assistant Director, Citizen Science at the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology presented his work at the annual CONNIE WILKINS BIRD LECTURE.  His talk was about Science at the Bird Feeder:  What thousands of people and tiny transmitters can tell us about bird populations.  The talk was sponsored by Lime Hollow Center for Environment and Culture and the SUNY Cortland Biology Club.
