Vestiges is a solo exhibition featuring a vivid collection of 7 large-scale oil paintings and 27 prints by a Texas-based artist, Billy Hassell. This is the second one-man show by Billy Hassell in New York State since 1998.
Six color lithographs on display are part of Vestiges, a solo exhibition by a Texas-based artist, Billy Hassell, on view in the main gallery space. He was recently referred to as “Mother Nature’s Stylist” in The New York Times.
The installation was conceived as a collaborative project between Heather Ramsdale ’97 and a group of students during the Artist’s Workshop organized in conjunction with Ramsdale’s solo exhibition Form & Forever presented in the Dowd Gallery.
Works on Paper display is part of the Form & Forever exhibition.
Form and Forever is a solo exhibition by sculptor Heather Ramsdale ’97 featuring free-standing objects and sculptural wall pieces addressing a subject of forever and what is beyond now in relation to form and its physicality.
The event is co-sponsored by the Sesquicentennial Committee, which has included the exhibition among an ongoing series of intellectual and cultural events during the 2018-19 academic year to celebrate the College’s rich 150-year history.

Exhibition Presented in Partnership with the State University of New York and is Travelling to Seven SUNY Campuses Between Fall 2017 and Summer 2020.
NYSCA/NYFA Fellowship recipients Peter Beasecker, Sharif Bey, Ariana Gerstein, Dusty Herbig, and Monteith McCollum will show their work in the Hallway and Under the Balcony Galleries at the Dowd Fine Arts Center. These artists represent a small cross-section of an active visual arts scene in Central New York. The artwork selected for the satellite exhibition compliments the diverse display of media and artists and demonstrates that our region is home to many talented artists excelling in their field.
Artists: Monteith McCollum and Ariana Gerstein
Loop: connecting to the beginning focuses on animation and the looping sequence through a variety of art forms. Featured artists include Eric Dyer, Juan Fontanive, Laura Heit, Ondrej Janek, and Anna Vasof. Their works explore a wide range of media and technical approaches that demonstrate high- and low-tech versions of the moving image. These contemporary works are juxtaposed with photographs by Harold E. Edgerton and Eadweard J. Muybridge to provide historical context for this study of motion.
