COORDINATES
February 29-April 15, 2016
The GPS coordinates 42.589° N x 76.198° W mark the exact location of the foundry furnace at SUNY Cortland, linking each sculptor in this exhibition through the works they’ve cast there. COORDINATES includes sculpture created in a pour just prior to the show and a range of additional pieces by each of the artists.
The sculptors participated in a mini-residency program from February 10-14 in Vaughn Randall’s sculpture classes, offering students a unique opportunity to observe the full arc of the creative process from concept to mold-making, casting and finishing.
