ACE FALL 2013 EVENT INFORMATION

Events for which dates have been set include:
~ Oct. 3 - 9th Grd. Fieldtrip -SUNY Cortland, Corey Union
Workshop exploring the variety of careers available.
School fieldtrip - see your ACE liaison to attend.
~ Oct. 15 - College Night/Fair at TC3 6-7:30 pm (No pre-registration required)
Learn a little about a lot of colleges in one evening, attend this College Fair.
Over 100 Colleges will be represented. This is a 'walk-in/sign-in' event.
~ Oct. 19 - Spirit Day – 9th Grd. Campus Event: SUNY Cortland (for 9th graders & parents)
A fun, educational Career and Team-Building workshop for both Parents and Students.
~ Oct. 22 - 12th Grd. Campus Visit –Cornell (Fieldtrip)
Info. on: college applications, career planning, and why you should connect with your professors.
~ Fall Regional Institutes: Workshops selections for both Parents and Students.
(Past subjects have included Financial Aid, College Admission Tips, Navigating Social Media, etc)
1. Oct. 26 - Lansing H.S. (Sat. morning) Lansing: Agenda/workshop list.
2. Nov. 14 - Cincinnatus H.S. (Thurs. evening) Cincinnatus: Agenda/workshop list.
~ College Theatre - The College Play locations/dates/names, are listed below. See the Newsletter for play descriptions. Plays are opened to ACE families by the colleges. Not all content is family oriented. Parental discretion is always advised.

~ Dec. 3- 11th Grd. Campus Visit –(Fieldtrip) SUNY Cortland
"Dollars & Sense" An educational program with information about career paths and salaries
in the real working world.
~ Dec. 7 - Achieve & Succeed - 10th-12th Grds. Campus Event: Cornell Univ. (Students & Parents)
(This program has been changed and now has a different focus from last year's "Achieve & Succeed" at IC)
Now Open to SENIORS also: Schools of Engineering and Hotel Administration Tours. Even if you're not
Interested in attending Cornell, these two tours will enable you to get answers to questions about
various careers in Engineering and Hotel/Hospitality from the students’ perspective.
