Maintaining Athletics Excellence

mike tota

When considering colleges, Mike Tota, a scholastic lacrosse standout and honor student, chose SUNY Cortland for its outstanding athletics and academics. The Webster, N.Y., native hasn’t been disappointed.

In his first three years, Mike has experienced an NCAA championship and three conference titles. He was voted ECAC Rookie of the Year, an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American and a SUNYAC Commissioner’s Scholar Athlete.

The business economics major with a 4.02 GPA conducted research on salary compression with Assistant Professor Kathleen Burke. As a summer intern with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in Rochester, Mike developed tools to process documents and improve invoice payments.

Success on the playing field begins in the classroom. It continues with exceptional coaches, facilities and opportunities. That’s been a proven formula for athletics excellence at SUNY Cortland for the past century.

Help us to maintain that time-honored tradition by supporting the Athletic Program Development Endowment and Fund.
