Campus ChampionRichard Marren is a champion for kids and a role model for community service. The full-time residential youth counselor, who volunteers as a Cub Scout den leader and youth baseball and soccer coach, aspires to an administrative career that allows him to change and improve the state’s youth detention facilities. Earning his bachelor's degree in criminology last Saturday put Rich closer to that goal. This year’s recipient of the Sociology Department’s Delmar C. Palm Award believes that all kids benefit from responsible male figures in their lives. This begins at home, where he and his wife Stephanie are raising their 6-year-old son, Keelan.
