Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House will be hosting its fifth-annual garden cleanup on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. With an increase in participation over the past four years, we are excited to see what this year will bring.
We're ready for another big season, with weddings scheduled and some community-based fundraising events booked. To impress those who will be here throughout the summer and into the fall, we want to ensure our gardens are in their finest shape.
I would like to extend an invitation to join us at the Parks Alumni House for any amount of time on April 26, to connect with other local alumni working in the beautiful gardens.
Any amount of time you can find during that day is greatly appreciated. We need as many green thumbs as possible!
Volunteers will start at 9 a.m. and will spruce up the gardens throughout the day. Hamburgers, hot dogs and salads will be provided around noon. Soda, water and other refreshments also will be offered as well.
If you cannot commit to this date, we are offering volunteer opportunities during the last week of May as well as over the summer. From Tuesday, May 27 through Friday, May 30, we will be running a planting week. Alums are encouraged to help us plant flowers in preparation for the upcoming season. There will also be a chance to assist with events during the summer season.
Your commitment to helping keep the Parks Alumni House one of the most attractive landmarks in all of Cortland is appreciated. I hope to see you Saturday, April 26!
