Distinguished Alumni/Distinguished Young Alumni Awards
The Distinguished Alumni Awards are the highest honors that the Alumni Association bestows on graduates of SUNY Cortland.
Established in 1968, the awards have been presented to 113 graduates. In 1977, the Distinguished Young Alumni Award was introduced and, to date, 20 such graduates have been honored.
These awards seek to recognize Cortland alumni for distinguishing themselves in their careers and communities, and/or rendering outstanding service to the College or Alumni Association, thus bringing credit to the alumnus or alumna and honor to the College.
Distinguished Young Alumni Award nominees must be under 35 years old and must have graduated in the last 10 years.
Nominations are active for three years, including the year of initial nomination. Those alumni nominated as distinguished or distinguished young alumni since 2010 who have not received awards do not have to be nominated again. Nominations for the 2013 awards must be received by Jan. 31, 2013 and can be submitted by completing the Nomination Form.
Honorary Alumni
Honorary Alumni are nominated by the College and Cortland College Alumni Association. The Scholarship and Awards Committee of the Alumni Association Board of Directors makes the final decision.
Outstanding Alumni Volunteers

The Scholarship and Awards Committee of the Alumni Association Board of Directors makes the final decision. Nominations for the 2013 awards must be received by Jan. 31, 2013 and can be submitted by completing the Nomination Form.
