Grads Recall “Hotdog” Experience Navigating the Wienermobile

What’s the best way to see the country as a recent college graduate? For two young alumni, the Oscar Mayer meat production company held the answer. They traveled around the country aboard the popular Wienermobile, stockpiling a lifetime of memories along the way.

Dramatic Finish Caps Third Straight Cortaca Jug Win

A dramatic goal-line stand by the Cortland defense preserved a third straight Cortaca win. With Cortland leading 16-10 and less than a minute to play, Ithaca faced 4th down from inside the 1-yard line. Cortland stepped up, stuffing the run and prevailing in the 54th annual rivalry game.

College Celebrates 40 Years of Title IX

Just how much has Title IX meant to SUNY Cortland? For starters, it paved the way for 14 national championship teams, 25 individual national champions and 62 C-Club Hall of Famers. The College will celebrate 40 years of Title IX with a special ceremony Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Philanthropy Week Generates Thousands of Thanks

SUNY Cortland students gave thanks in early November in the form of more than 2,000 thank you cards for alumni and supporters of the College. Philanthropy Week educated the campus community about the efforts behind The Cortland Fund.

Academic Hall of Fame Seeks Nominations

The College’s Academic Hall of Fame Committee is looking for alumni who graduated 10 or more years ago with magna cum laude or higher honors who also have made significant contributions in their chosen professions. Nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis for the select group.

Educating a Champion: Brittan Kuhlman

He traveled nearly 1,200 miles to play hockey for SUNY Cortland. A serious accident to his father nearly derailed his college experience until scholarships saved the day. Brittan Kuhlman is one of several students profiled in the 2011-12 Cortland College Foundation Annual Report, which was mailed to alumni in early November. The electronic version includes the name of all donors for the 2011-12 fiscal year.

C-Club Hall of Fame Inducts Seven

The first female four-star general in the history of the U.S. military, an NFL assistant head coach and a former national coach of the year in collegiate men’s lacrosse highlighted a stellar seven-member induction class that joined the C-Club Hall of Fame Oct. 20. Ann Dunwoody ’75 is pictured at left.
