West Coast Florida Reunion:
Alumni are invited to play golf at Calusa Lakes Golf Club in Venice Fla. Golfers and non-golfers are invited to an hors d'oeuvres reception at 5 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner at the clubhouse.

St. Patrick's Day Celebration:
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with alumni and friends at
Mulrooney's Pub in Armory Square, Syracuse.

B-Sens Hockey Game:
Join us for a buffet dinner in the Arena Club at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton. Watch the defending Calder Cup Champion Binghamton Senators take on the Syracuse Crunch.

Dinner and a Musical:
Enjoy dinner at the Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House with special guest speaker Thomas Hischak, a SUNY Cortland professor of performing arts. The evening concludes with a performance of 'Violet' in the Dowd Performing Arts Center.

Alumni House Gift-Wrapping Event Helps 16 Families

The sixth annual Adopt-A-Family event, organized by SUNY Cortland’s Residence Life and Housing Office, provided $5,700 in wrapped children’s gifts to 16 local families. Residence hall directors and resident advisors wrapped presents and mingled with College alumni for two hours Dec. 1 at the Lynne Parks ’68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House.

Deadline for Super Bowl Raffle Tickets Fast-Approaching

You and a friend could attend Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, Ind., for $50 each. SUNY Cortland is selling $100 raffle tickets for an expenses-paid trip for two to professional football’s biggest game. The best part: all of the money raised from raffle ticket sales goes to student scholarships. Be sure to purchase your tickets soon. The grand prize drawing takes place Thursday, Dec. 22.

Grand Prize Winner Announced for Social Media Contest

The SUNY Cortland Alumni Affairs Office recently picked Heather Bush Farmer ’01 as the grand prize winner of its yearlong “Smarty Pants” trivia contest. Farmer, pictured to the left with her husband, Michael Farmer ’04, and daughter, Alisandra, won an overnight package at the Lynne Parks ’68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House. More social media contests are slated for 2012.

Educating a Champion: Nicholas Penberthy

The SUNY Cortland freshman opened up his backyard hockey rink to the public and launched a charity tournament that earned naming sponsorship from a food and beverage chain. In three years, Penberthy raised $10,000 for children from low-income families in Buffalo. He hopes to raise another $10,000 this year.

For those who missed the SUNY Cortland football team’s 27-3 Cortaca Jug win over Ithaca College – or for those who just want to relive the action from Ithaca’s Butterfield Stadium – an online photo gallery of the Nov. 12 game is open for viewing.
