‘Out Standing’ in Iowa’s Cornfields

“Most (Iowa) landowners aren’t opposed to hunting, they just like to know who’s there,” said Todd Bogenschutz ’89, upland wildlife biologist for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Bureau.

During peak years about 200,000 hunters, one out of four traveling from out of state, plod the edges of this mostly privately owned, corn- and bean-planted patchwork in search of pheasant, Hungarian partridge, cottontail rabbit, and fox squirrel.

Cortaca Events Still Open, Facebook Party Planned

 

 

The 52nd Cortaca Jug Football Game will be played at noon on Nov. 13 at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex. The SUNY Cortland Alumni Association is excited to offer several  opportunities for alumni to cheer on the Red Dragons as they take on the Ithaca Bombers to fight for the Jug on the gridiron.
