Minutes � December 3, 2007
Present: Mark Dodds, Thomas Fuchs, Ray Goldberg, Joy Hendrick, Jill Murphy, Sharon Todd
Bonni Hodges (Chair-Health) spoke to the group and described the rationale for the revisions to the Health Science Major.� The new title for this major will be Community Health to better reflect the content of the courses in the program, considerations related to seeking accreditation from SABPAC, and students needs.� Revisions also include two new courses (HLH 380 Public Health Infomatics and HLH 462 Organization and Administration of Health Programs), requiring some former electives in health, and minor changes to a currently required course (HLH 494).�
Hodges addressed/answered the following issues/questions from the group:
New Business-
HLH 380- New Course Proposal.� Contingent pass-
The following items need to be changed:
New Course Proposal Form:� Remove �CPN 100/103�; If students can take both COM 450 & HLH 380 this needs to be stated; Any restriction should be stated
Course Syllabus: Need academic integrity statement; Need Disability statement
HLH 462- New Course Proposal. Contingent pass-
The following items need to be changed:
Course syllabus:� Need updates to disability statement (ie B-1); Fix �Recommended and Resources�; Attendance counts as 5 out of 400 points so suggest removing �Grades will be adjusted downwards for poor attendance record.�
HLH 494- Alteration of Existing Course-Contingent pass-
The following items need to be changed:
Alteration of Existing Course Form: Need Abbreviated Title
Course syllabus:� Need update to disability statement (ie B-1);� Update reference to College Handbook/remove reference to college catalog; Need academic integrity statement
Health- Alteration of Existing Program- Contingent pass
The following items need to be changed:
GE (40) row appears twice, remove one; last page listing required health courses, change Prereq for HLH 380 and insert # of credit hours; Total Number of LA credits = 62, but total 60 when listed below; Revisit the credits table to confirm totals add up to 124 (Is Com 210 counted 2 times?)
Eileen Gravani spoke to the group regarding the need for revisions to their program.� Graduate students must have certain pre-requisites but can�t get financial aid for undergraduate courses (ie EDU 496), so a new course EDU 596 has been created.�
EDU 596-New Course Proposal- Contingent pass
The following items need to be changed:
New Course Proposal Form:� Restriction not open for EDU 496;
Course Syllabus:� Add (B) on syllabus; Remove pre-req; State Corequisites: SHH 640, 668; Add office location within disability policy; clarify lectures and numbers on course outline
MS in Communications Disorders- Alteration of Existing Program- Contingent pass
The following items need to be changed:

Old Business
Kinesiology- Alteration of Existing Program to allow students to take EXS 100 or EXS 197� Approved unanimously
EXS 511-Alteration of an Existing Course to add EXS 201 as a pre-req-Approved
The following items need to be changed:
Alteration of Existing Course Form: Mark �yes� for Course Prerequisite
Course syllabus: Check comma placement when listing prerequisites so these match form
Minutes from November 19, 2007 were unanimously approved as submitted.
