Minutes of 4/29/08 Meeting

I.����� The minutes of April 22nd were approved.

 

II.��� Old and New Business

������� A.��� Sport Management- Alteration to Existing Program

������� Contingent pass based on the following:

1.        SPM 452 / ECO 366 qualification language per Tim Phillips� email (�not open to students who have taken or are taking SPM 452�) was discussed. SPM was concerned that students might be blocked by this language in earning a minor in Economics. However, ECO 366 is not required and this qualifier language was accepted.

2.        SPM 452 course name should be consistent between syllabus and proposal sheet. It is recommended that the abbreviated course name directly reflect the course name.

3.        SPM 452 course proposal #9 should reflect the overlap with ECO 366

4.        The proposed course offering sheet has two courses with a �#� identifier without defining what it means. Previous descriptions showed this as �online course only, winter & summer session only�. This marker should either be removed or identified.

 

������� B.��� Speech Pathology and Audiology

��������������� 1.���� SHH 283: New course proposal

����������������������� Contingent pass based on the following:

����������������������� a.���� Regina has an email of support concerning the foreign language revision

����������������������� b.���� B-40 Van Hoesen should reflect with B-1 or just Van Hoesen����

 

��������������� 2.���� Speech and Hearing Science- Alteration to Existing Program

����������������������� Contingent pass based on the following:

����������������������� a.���� American Sign Language is not required

������� b.���� Line to be added across from new course SHH 283 to line up both sides of the chart. This addition will also force the �or� on the MAT/PSY 201 line to clearly show MAT/PSY 201 or CAP 100 is required.

������� c.���� Course credit hours will be added to the chart.

������� d.���� A line showing the additional free elective will be added

������� e.���� A description listing this chart as �core program� to distinguish these requirements from the rest of the program.

 

������� C. �� Physical Education

��������������� 1.���� EDU 456: New Course proposal

��������������� Contingent pass based on the following

��������������� a.���� Syllabus will be revised to detail how a student can receive a �H� Recommended to add �as outlined in the appraisal forms� because they can be revised easier than the course itself.
