History of the Community Bike Project
The Community Bike Project started by a group of faculty, staff, and students who wanted to increase the health and wellness of the campus community. Read A Brief History of the Community Bike Project at SUNY Cortland to learn more about the history of the CBP and where it is today.
What is the Community Bike Project?
The Community Bike Project is an alternative transportation service on SUNY Cortland's campus. It is the idea of students, faculty and staff at SUNY Cortland who care about the environment, sustainable transportation, health and wellness and about a shared spirit of community on our campus.
How does the Community Bike Project work?
The Community Bike Project fixes donated bikes to make available to SUNY Cortland students, faculty, and staff for an alternative transportation on campus. Student volunteers run the bike shop and are available to assist with the bicycle sign-out process. Please check out The Fleet page to learn more about checking out a Yellow Bike or learn how you can rent a bike for the semester.
